This Privacy Policy describes how FNF Mod Installer ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Android application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Short version: FNF Mod Installer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app works entirely on your device.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect any of the following:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
- Location data
- Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
- Any information about the mods you install or the engines you use
3. Permissions Required
FNF Mod Installer requests the following Android permissions solely to perform its core file-management functionality:
SAF (Storage Access Framework) — Folder Picker
For engines that use Scoped Storage (Android/data/…), the app uses the Android
system folder picker (SAF) to let you grant access to a specific mods folder.
This is handled entirely by the Android operating system; we receive only a persistent URI
permission which is stored locally on your device.
4. Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android's standard SharedPreferences and URI permission APIs:
- Which engines are enabled in the app's settings.
- The folder URIs you have linked for each engine (needed to maintain access across app restarts).
- The storage mode selected for engines that offer both Scoped and root storage options.
This data never leaves your device and is not shared with any third party.
5. Third-Party Services
FNF Mod Installer does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or data-collection SDKs. The app does not make network requests to any server operated by us.
The app may be distributed via GitHub Releases. When you download the APK from GitHub, GitHub's own Privacy Policy applies to that download.
6. Children's Privacy
FNF Mod Installer does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Security
Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no data-in-transit risk from our side. All file operations are performed locally on your device using Android's standard storage APIs. We encourage you to keep your device and Android OS up to date for the best security.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to access, rectify, or delete from our servers. All app data stored locally can be cleared at any time by clearing the app's data in your device's Settings › Apps › FNF Mod Installer › Storage › Clear Data.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
